THE final three units at a massive multi-million-pound entertainment hub are still up for lease but there is fierce competition from “several parties”.
There are still two restaurant units and one storage facility to lease at Northern Gateway Leisure Park, just off the A12.
The Gazette previously reported on how three units were being marketed on Rightmove back in February.
Unit R6 is a 3,079sq ft restaurant unit which costs £8,980 per calendar month or £107,765 per annum.
It’s adjacent to the Cineworld entrance and is situated close to the JobServe Community Stadium and the nearby David Lloyd gym.
Unit R1 is a restaurant site which spans 3,724sq ft and costs £10,862 a month or £130,340 per annum and is also adjacent to the Cineworld entrance.
It also has provision for “substantial outdoor seating”.
The largest of the three units is the storage facility, unit L2, which comes with 10,409sq ft and is available at a monthly price of £13,011 or £156,135 per annum.
In this unit, it would be possible for a tenant to install a mezzanine floor which could increase the floor area to around 14,000sq ft.
A spokesman for Colchester Council has stated there has been interest by numerous groups.
They said: "I can confirm that these units are still available, and the Rightmove listings are up to date.
“We have received interest from several parties, and the council is currently considering these potential opportunities.
“The addition of these new offerings is expected to complement the diverse mix of attractions already present at the park, further enhancing its appeal."
The £65 million project was kick-started in early 2022 by developers Turnstone Estates, and now boasts brands like The Hollywood Bowl, Slim Chickens, Greggs, and Wendy’s.
A 90-room Travelodge also opened at the leisure park in July, and there is also a Puttstars adventure golf centre.
A 12-screen Cineworld multiplex with a Starbucks concession, is also expected to open at some point in the future.
However, there is some uncertainty about the cinema's future as some Cineworld sites across the UK are closing down.
The 200,000sq ft leisure park has capacity for 750 cars and several rapid-charge electric vehicle charging points.
