THE Gazette gave Essex Bakery’s brownies a try, and we can see why they’re developing a global reputation.

Colchester’s Essex Bakery has been enjoying the sweet taste of success since launching in 2011.

The firm has been raking in good reviews since its simple start in the Essex family’s very own kitchen.

Gary Essex, 40, started the business with his wife Natalia after he worked as a chef and secondary school food and business teacher.

We decided to try out the brownies to see if they deserve the plaudits.

The brownies were so soft, spongey and delicate, that we could sink our teeth into them again and again.

Essex Bakery always has around 12 flavours on offer at once, but often introduces another handful so that there can be around 16 during holiday seasons.

The double chocolate brownie is their staple, and it is safe to say the bakery has perfected their recipe, as it’s everything you could dream of and more.

The white choc chunk brownie was enjoyed the most, with the blondie brownie offering a slightly more unique delight with a touch of raspberry and white chocolate.

Among the other most common flavours are salted caramel, honeycomb, mint chocolate, chocolate orange, and chilli chocolate brownies.

If Essex Bakery have whipped them up, the brownies are sure to be an absolute delight.
