Colchester Museums has announced the return of its crowd-favourite Murder Mystery Night at Colchester Castle set on September 21.

The popular interactive event plunges participants into a world of suspense and intrigue, set in 54AD Ancient Rome.

Professional actors will guide attendees, becoming temporary detectives, through a surprising sequence of events leading to a murder.

The story created centres around Emperor Claudius experiencing a series of strange convertibles including a sudden divorce, unusual familial relations, a crafty key servant, and resistant senate members.

Attendees must collect clues throughout the night in the attempt to unveil the perpetrator.

Promised as an event to remember, filled with perplexing details, the evening aims to be an exciting adventure for the mystery-loving guests.
