A WELL-KNOWN Colchester pub has revealed its bid to stay open for longer and offer "late night refreshment".
The Leather Bottle, in Shrub End Road, has applied to Colchester County Council for a variation to its premises licence under section 34 of the 2003 licensing act.
The application was received by the council on May 20.
If successful, the pub will be able to stay open an hour later Sunday to Thursday and will provide late night refreshment on Friday to Saturday between the hours of 10pm to 1am.
It would also be able to extend its live and recorded music at the pub from Sunday to Thursday for an hour between 11pm to midnight, and Friday to Saturday 11pm to 1am.
Anyone interested in providing feedback regarding this request has until June 11 to email licensing.team@colchester.gov.
In 2022 former landlady Maxine Burch left after the 400-year-old pub closed down.
