A BELOVED skating brand is set to host another fun all-day skate event at a well-known Colchester venue over the bank holiday weekend.

Rollerworld has teamed up with the Colchester Events company to bring another 80s vs 90s Skate Extravaganza to Charter Hall, in Cowdray Avenue, on Saturday.

There will be multiple sessions roller-skaters of all abilities will be able to take part in throughout the day.

It includes the relaxed skate session from 11am to 12pm, an all ages-family disco with games and music from 12 to 5pm, and the Rollerworld 80s vs 90s Skate Extravaganza, from 7pm to 11.30pm for over 14s.

According to Rollerworld’s website, the relaxed session is the ideal choice for roller-skating newcomers, and people with sensory needs, disabilities or wheelchairs.

There will be a licenced bar and plenty of music, while anyone not wanting to partake but wants to go along can purchase spectator tickets.

An entry ticket and skating for any one of the three sessions costs £12.50.

The event follows Rollerworld owners Anne and Jason Khan announcing the Rollerworld Foundation back in November last year.

The non-profit will strive to promote the participation of skating sports in the city and protect and safeguard the future of the Rollerworld brand and what it stands for.

In April, it was announced the former Rollerworld site, at 13 Moorside, will become a Furniture Outlet.
