A NEWLY-REVAMPED play area has been opened in Colchester.
Colchester Borough Homes, the council's housing arm, has announced the grand opening of “Gurdon Zoo,” the newly refurbished Gurdon Road Play Area.
The project follows finally opens after consultation with residents from the neighbourhood.
Earlier this year, CBH conducted a survey to gather valuable feedback on desired improvements for the play area.
It says the feedback was "crucial" in shaping the final design of the revamped space.
Local councillors Dave Harris and Martyn Warnes were invited to cut the ribbon and unveil the new play equipment during the official opening ceremony.
Chief executive of Colchester Borough Homes Philip Sullivan said: “We're committed to enabling thriving communities and the new Gurdon Road Play Area embodies this vision and is a fantastic example of resident-driven success!
“Resident input was instrumental in designing a space that welcomes all children and encourages them to play together.
“We're confident that this inclusive playground will be a continuing source of enjoyment for local children for years to come.”
