Residents gathered on Bank Holiday Monday to mark one year since the historic coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Town Cryer Jean Postlethwaite-Dixon gave an official Cry to the crowds gathered outside the Corn Exchange in Witney’s Market Square on April 6.

Similar cries happened at 12 noon up and down the country to mark the occasion.

Councillor Andrew Coles, chair of West Oxfordshire District Council, was among the civic dignitaries and councillors marking the event.

Mr Coles said: "I’m delighted that West Oxfordshire’s largest town decided to take part and mark the first anniversary of the Coronation, a day many of us remember fondly.

"It’s great that The King has been able to undertake some public engagements this week as he continues his treatment for cancer.

"Everybody in West Oxfordshire wishes His Majesty well and send best wishes for a speedy recovery."

The Royal family asked the public to share memories of the Coronation as gun salutes rang out across London to mark the first anniversary.

Footage of the big day including the moment the King and Queen were crowned, the grand procession back to Buckingham Palace and the RAF flypast were published on the Royal Family's social channels.
