AN inquest has been formally opened into the death of a ‘bright, kind, funny and beautiful’ young woman in crash.

Tallie Brazier died following a collision involving a green Hyundai Veloster and a grey Vauxhall Astra on the A5117 at Elton, at about 1.50pm on Monday, April 15.

Miss Brazier, of Owestry in Shropshire, died at Whiston Hospital aged just 22, Warrington Coroner’s Court heard on Wednesday.

On April 15, she was the front-seat passenger in a vehicle that was at a set of traffic lights that was hit to the rear by another vehicle, causing significant damage.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found a 50-year-old woman in one vehicle, and a 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman in a second vehicle.

All three had sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and were taken to hospital.

CPR was commenced at the scene and continued while Miss Brazier was en-route to Whiston Hospital, but she sadly died there at 5.50pm.

Cheshire Police said that both the 50-year-old woman and 23-year-old man were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

It was heard that Miss Brazier’s identification was confirmed by her father to a police constable on April 15.

A coroner’s officer said: “The reason for the inquest is an unnatural cause of death.”

The officer added: “It is requested that an inquest be opened and adjourned for further work to be completed.”

Jacqueline Devonish, senior coroner for Cheshire, agreed to the request.

She said: “On the evidence I have heard, I am satisfied that the case of Tallie Summer Brazier will require an inquest.

“I therefore formally open the inquest and adjourn the case to be heard on December 4.”

Following her death, Miss Brazier’s family paid tribute to her, stating: “We are completely devastated at the loss of our wonderful daughter Tallie.

“She was bright, kind, funny and beautiful with a whole life of adventures in front of her.

“Everyone that met her loved her.

“For us, her parents, her sister, her boyfriend, family and friends our lives will always be less shiny from now on. We will love her and miss her forever.”

Cheshire Police launched an appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the prior driving of either vehicle or has dashcam footage, to come forward.
