A BUSY supermarket in Colchester is set to undergo a huge revamp at its site.
Tesco Extra, in Highwoods, is set to undergo a huge refurbishment both inside and outside the store.
The work will see various improvements to fridges and freezers, lighting, shelving and more.
It also includes upgrades to the associated petrol station on site.
A Tesco spokesman said: “Our Colchester Extra store is due to be undergoing a full refresh to improve the shopping experience for customers.
“The work will start in July and will include a new store layout, upgraded fridges and freezers, lighting and shelving.
“Outside the store, we’ll be resurfacing the pavements and making improvements to the petrol filling station.
“The store will remain open throughout, but we thank customers for their patience whilst the work is undertaken and look forward to serving customers in a fully refreshed store after the upgrades are complete.”
Some of the work is subject to planning consent so an exact date for the work is not yet set.
The Tesco in Highwoods has been open for a number of years and is a staple supermarket for the area and beyond.
It is one of many Tesco superstores and express stores across the city.
