A popular competition for dog groomers is preparing to return, offering an exciting day for all pooch lovers.

The Salon Groomer of the Year has been going since 2021, showcasing talented dog groomers from all over the UK.

Run and organised by Emma Gooding and Ky Marie Finch, the event started out as a virtual event during the Covid lockdowns and has grown into a community of 2,000 members based all over the world.

Organiser Ky Marie Finch said: “The in-person competition sees groomers travel from all over the UK to style dogs in a chance to be named Salon Groomer Of The Year.”

This year’s events will boast nearly 100 entrants, their helpers, their dogs and a plethora of trade stands, as well as a panel of eight judges for different categories.

Besides the competitions, where winners can receive up to £200 in cash, there will be education seminars for groomers on how to care for different breeds.

Popular traders such as All4paws, Secret Weapon, Colin Taylor products, Scissor Boutique, Mays bows, and Pawganic will be represented at the event.

Food and drink will be available, and spectators are welcome to join the event taking place on April 28 at the Marks Tey Parish Hall.
