On Friday 12th April, Declan Mckenna took to the stage at Alexandra Palace. Playing the biggest gig of his career (so far), with an attendance of around 11,000 people.
He brought with him support acts of bands Softlaunch and Wunderhorse, who filled two hours before Declan took to the stage at 9pm. Those who followed his previous tour shows know that he is not one to stick to a setlist, often changing his song list for every show. London is not excluded from this theme.
This tour comes off the back of his new album ‘What happened to the beach?’ in which he kicked off his performance with new release: Sympathy. He also performed many from previous albums ‘Zeros’ and ‘What do you think about the car?’, including fan-favourites Brazil, The Kids Don’t Wanna Come Home, The Key To Life On Earth and Listen To Your Friends.
Declan was great interacting with the crowd, but the crowd more often than not interacting with him. The audience was enthralled in his performance, Alexandra Palace never going quiet in the 2 hours Declan remained on stage.
