A TEENAGER asked his probation officer what would happen if he got arrested for knife crime or robbery one month before he fatally stabbed a 16-year-old.

Elijah Clark, who denies murder, manslaughter, possession of a bladed article, and actual bodily harm was caught in possession of a machete at North Holt Station, London, in 2022.

Clark was then placed on probation with a supervising officer from Essex Community Rehabilitation Company, Natasha Bristow.

Chelmsford Crown Court heard on Tuesday how Miss Bristow became “concerned about the defendant’s attitude to knives” after she met Clark in January 2023.

Christopher Paxton KC, prosecuting, said: “Elijah Clark was placed on probation with a supervising officer Natasha Bristow.

“You will hear from Miss Bristow and how, in January 2023 during one of their sessions, she became concerned about the defendant’s attitude to the carrying of knives.

“The defendant specifically asked Miss Bristow what would happen if he got arrested for a knife crime or robbery.”

Miss Bristow then supplied Clark with a letter for knife crime intervention.

Mr Paxton KC continued: “The defendant’s interest in knives [was] revealed to his probation officer.”

Clark claims he was acting in self defence when he stabbed Andy Wood 16, in February last year.

The trial continues.
