A MAN has been charged with threatening to share an intimate photograph and stalking after police swooped on a property in Colchester.
Homeowners were left concerned after at least five police cars and a dog unit were seen in Morten Road, at about 10.30pm on Friday.
After a man was seen being put into a police van, several of the vehicles left the scene, but two police officers remained stationed outside a home.
Essex Police has now confirmed a 40-year-old man was arrested at an address in the city on April 5.
He was subsequently charged with threatening to share a photograph of a person in an intimate state and stalking involving fear of violence.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Officers attended an address in Colchester to make an arrest in relation to an ongoing investigation.
“David Banks, 40, of no fixed address, has since been charged with threatening to share a photograph of a person in an intimate state and stalking involving fear of violence.”
Following a hearing at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 8, Banks was remanded in custody.
Banks will remain in custody until the next hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on May 7.
