A WOMAN who spent thousands on forehead reduction surgery after battling insecurity for years has said it has “changed her life”.

Beth Halsey, from Colchester, has had her hairline surgically lowered after forking out £9,000 on treatment, having struggled with her appearance for years.

She shared her “journey to a smaller forehead” on her TikTok account, with the video amassing more than one million views.

Beth, 27, has since appeared on ITV’s This Morning where she spoke to Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond about her story.

She said: “From when I was young, I remember Googling forehead reduction when I was like seven.

“I have had a fringe my whole life until now and I felt like I was stuck with this fringe I didn’t want anymore.”

After having a consultation and making the final decision, Beth underwent the surgery last month.

“The first few days I was on a lot of painkillers and antibiotics and the first few days I was in quite a lot of pain, but the tablets were really good,” she said.

“But after the first week, I was fine. I was still taking a few tablets, but I was going out and about and working from home.”

Beth said she was teased a little as a child for her forehead, however, it was the insecurity which drove her to make the decision.

She said: “It was a few nasty teasing comments when I was in primary school so that was the initial starting point.

“But going forward it was always an insecurity I had.”

The surgery reduced the hairline down by an inch in the middle and 2cm on the side.

Now, Beth says she feels “free” and “confident”.

She said: “Without sounding too dramatic I always say it is quite freeing.

“Now I can be my true self, I am really confident. I can post pictures on Instagram without a filter.

“Surgery is a huge step, and I took a long time to think about it and make sure it was what I wanted.

“But it can change your life and it has changed mine.

“If it is something you want to do, research it and go for it.”
