REGISTRATION for a popular annual running event has now opened.

Keen runners can now sign up to take part in this year's Tiptree 10.

Winners of the Howard Williams Trophy for best Essex road race a record-breaking five times, the annual ten-mile typically attracts hundreds of runners each year.

The race is held on quiet rural roads through scenic Essex countryside, beginning in Messing and taking runners on a loop to Easthorpe and back through Messing, ending in New Road.

Race director Rob Hankey said: "Our event is fully marshalled by passionate members of Tiptree Road Runners who will provide support and encouragement to all participants, regardless of ability or club affiliation. 

"Tiptree Road Runners is very proud to donate to local and national charities from the profits of the event.

"We are grateful to all of our sponsors, without whom the event could not take place.

"We look forward to seeing you on the start line for what promises to be another great race."

The Tiptree 10 mile race returns on Sunday, October 13.

Entry is priced at £19 for affiliated runners and £21 for unaffiliated runners.
