A DRIVER who lost control of his Mercedes and crashed into a bollard has been ordered to pay more than £700 in costs.
Christopher Holland appeared before Colchester Magistrates' Court earlier this month where he admitted one charge of driving a vehicle without care and attention.
The court heard how Holland, 47, was driving a Mercedes 250 in December 2022 when he lost control of the car in Severalls Lane, Colchester.
Holland then left the road, hit a bollard, and travelled more than 30ft over a grass verge before crashing into a nearby building.
Magistrates fined Holland, of Avon Way, Colchester £770 and endorsed his driving licence with six points.
