A NEW “lighter” Post Office service is set to open in Colchester.
The company has revealed a new branch is coming to the Galaxy Food and Wine shop in Harwich Road next month.
The service will be a Drop & Collect site, which is described as a “newer, lighter branch format”.
A spokesman said: “The service has been developed to take advantage of the opportunities in the pre-paid parcels market and helping us to address gaps in service coverage.
“The new Drop and Collect at Galaxy Food and Wine will offer Post Office services from a handheld device, providing convenient access for customers to bill payments and prepaid parcel collections and returns.
“To maximise accessibility to these services that our customers are increasingly seeking, more complex services like personal and business banking will not be available at this branch.”
Nearby Post Office sites with a wider range service include St John's Post Office and Hythe Quay Post Office.
The site will be open from 8am to 9pm Monday to Sunday.
