A SUSPECTED prolific shoplifter has been charged with a string of thefts in Colchester.
Jason Keane, of no fixed address, appeared before magistrates in Chelmsford on Monday accused of stealing from several Co-op stores in the city on 12 occasions between November last year and March this year.
He also faced a charge of stealing from Tesco in High Street last Friday, Essex Police said.
The 50-year-old was remanded in custody until his next hearing at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on April 8.
