EMERGENCY services were called to Colchester High Street this afternoon following reports of a man having been injured in a fall.
A man was subsequently taken to Colchester Hospital for further assessment and care.
One ambulance and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to the scene.
A concerned member of the public had seen the air ambulance landing in Colchester Castle Park.
Paul Parker, the head gardener at Colchester Castle Park, had thought the helicopter was taking pictures of the castle roof when he saw it circling the area at around 3.45pm.
A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service confirmed the air ambulance landed at Colchester Castle Park while the team attended the reported incident.
