Phil Gostelow, the principal of TTC Performing Arts College, said: "We are delighted to be returning to the Headgate Theatre, they are without doubt the most welcoming and friendly theatre around.

"Last year's show, Urinetown, was our first visit to the Headgate. Since then, we’ve visited with our Christmas show and we are very excited to be turning the theatre into a spaceship for Return to the Forbidden Planet.

"With a dynamic cast, hilarious comedy, and a toe-tapping soundtrack that includes hits like Great Balls of Fire and Good Vibrations, this sci-fi musical guarantees an exhilarating journey through the cosmos like no other."

The show is directed by Tim Major, choreographed by Debbie Paul and musically directed by Phil Gostelow.

Tickets are priced at £19.
