A ROAD in Colchester is set to close overnight for nearly two weeks as fresh closures have been revealed for north and mid Essex areas.

  • Osborne Street in Colchester will close from its junction with Stanwell Street to its junction with Whitewell Road.

During the closure, the bus lane in the road will be temporarily suspended from its junction with Stanwell Street south eastwards for a distance of 20 metres.

A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will also be introduced from its junction with Vineyard Gate to its junction with St Botolph’s Street.

The closure, suspension and restriction are scheduled to commence on March 11 for 13 nights, from 8pm to 6am, while resurfacing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • On the same day, three other closures are coming in the city.

Bergholt Road will shut from a point approximately 120m north west of its junction with North Station Roundabout for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction.

The closure will last for one night from 7pm to 6am while remedial reinstatement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

Compton Road will be closing from its junction with Ipswich Road to its junction with St Annes Road for three days while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Lastly, St Leonards Road is set to shut for two days from its junction with Hythe Hill for a distance of approximately 50m in a southerly direction.

This is while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

  • Elsewhere in north Essex, Heath Road in Mistley and Windmill Road in Bradfield will be closing from the junction with Harwich Road to the junction with Heath Road.

The closure is scheduled to commence on March 7 for five days while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • In Kirby Kross, Halstead Road will be closing from a point approximately 168m south west of its junction with Horsey Road for a distance of approximately 145m in a south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on March 12 for three days while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.

  • In mid Essex, a lengthy closure is coming to a village road.

Bumpstead Road in Sturmer and Haverhill Road in Steeple Bumpstead will be shutting from the junction with Bumpstead Road Roundabout to the junction with The Endway.

The closure is scheduled to commence on March 14 for 119 days while mains replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

  • In Cressing, a temporary 40mph speed limit restriction is set to be put in place in Long Green from a point 26m Southeast of its junction with the A120 roundabout for a distance of 375.9m in a south easterly direction.

A temporarily 30mph speed restriction will also be coming to Long Green from a point 401.9m Southeast of its junction with the A120 roundabout for a distance of 153.2m in a south easterly direction.

The restrictions are scheduled to commence on March 11 for 386 days whilst works are undertaken by Persimmon Homes.

  • In Braintree, a road is set for three closures in March, April and May.

Panfield Lane will shut from its junction with Pegasus Way for a distance of approximately 425m in a north easterly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on March 7 for 14 days followed by April 24 for 12 days and May 9 for seven days.
