AN American fast food chain has edged one step closer to opening its doors in Colchester.
The city council has approved blueprints submitted for illuminated signs to be installed at Slim Chickens, which is taking on a unit at the Northern Gateway Leisure Park.
Restrictions will be in place, however, after Myland Community Council raised concerns about light pollution.
The decision notice says all lit-up signs must be turned off when the business is closed and that the signage must comply with guidelines published by the Institution of Lighting Professionals.
