A SCHOOL is looking to replace an old disused swimming pool with a new classroom building.
Broomgrove Infant and Junior School, in Wivenhoe, has submitted the plans to Colchester Council.
The proposed work involves the removal of an existing disused swimming pool at the site.
This will then be replaced with a single-storey modular building with two new classrooms, to “improve the school’s overall facility”.
A planning document says the new building will be situated in the “exact location” of the existing swimming pool being removed.
“Crucially, the work does not require the felling of any trees,” it added.
Colchester Council will rule on the plans.
