LAND with planning permission to build a stunning art deco home could be yours for £375,000.

The 0.25-acre plot of land in Shrub End Road, Colchester, is up for sale after securing plans for a 4500-square-foot home.

The site is accessible from Shrub End Road via a driveway which is being sold with the site. Two other homes have a right of way on the driveway.

The plans for the home include aluminium doors and windows and two large roof terraces off the master suite.

The planning application also includes consent for a four-car detached garage.

The drawn-up designs show a modern-looking home with large windows and plenty of parking.

The floorplan includes two bedrooms with ensuites on the ground floor, a large lounge, office and a separate kitchen/ dining room.

The first floor is mapped out for a large master bedroom with an en-suite and walk-in wardrobe.

The master bedroom is surrounded by a large roof terrace.

The planning application was approved by Colchester Council in August 2023 after nine public objections.

There were concerns about the property overlooking neighbouring homes as well as worries that the style of the proposed art deco home wouldn’t fit in with the style of the area.

In the description for the home, a spokesman for estate agents Bloomfield Grey said: “Once completed, the consented property will be substantial with accommodation totalling around 4500 square feet.

“The ground floor will feature two bedrooms (both with ensuites), a lounge, a kitchen/dining room, an office and a WC.

“Consented design features include the use of modern lime render, aluminium framed double glazed external doors and windows, a roof lantern above the master suite and high ceilings in every room.
