TWO people remarkably escaped unharmed after a serious smash which saw a car flip onto its roof during rush-hour in Colchester.

Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service were called to the Cymbeline Way roundabout at 7.45am on Tuesday following reports of a crash.

Upon arrival it was established two vehicles had been involved in the crash and one car - a blue Seat - had landed on its roof.

Shocking images of the scene show the upside down vehicle badly damaged with pieces of the debris scatted on the ground.

Thankfully, nobody suffered any injuries as a result of the crash, according to Essex Police, nor did anyone involved require hospital treatment.

A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 7.45am to a road traffic collision in Cymbeline Way in Colchester.

"An ambulance and rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene.

"Two patients were assessed at the scene and did not require transportation to hospital.”

The crash caused some rush-hour delays for motorists.

The Gazette contacted the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service but it did not have any information to add regarding the incident.
