A BUSY petrol station and shop have been forced to close after workers encountered an "issue with the shutter".
The BP garage and Marks and Spencer, in Ipswich Road, Colchester, is shut to customers this morning.
According to motorists, barriers have been placed at the entrance and exit of the forecourt.
A spokesman for BP said: "The site is temporarily closed due to an issue with the shutter. We are awaiting an engineer."
It is not known when the site is expected to reopen.
The petrol station was previously closed in May last year whilst electric vehicle charging ports were installed.
The nearest petrol stations to the site are Tesco Petrol Station in Highwoods Square and BP in Cuckoo Farm Way.
