A COLCHESTER man has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 after he refused to assist the Metropolitan Police with identifying a driver believed to be guilty of a traffic offence.

Olawale Bikers, of Torch Walk, Colchester, was ordered to pay the fine earlier this month by magistrates in Bromley.

The case involved an incident in Bexley, London, in June last year when Bikers was required to give information relating to the identity of an individual driving a Nissan.

On January 16, magistrates found Bikers guilty and fined him £660, and ordered him to pay a further £374 in costs.

It means Bikers must pay a total of £1,034.
