A POPULAR farmers' market in Colchester has been earmarked for a much-anticipated return.

After a brief hiatus over the festive season, the Colchester Farmers’ Market is set to get back underway from February 3.

Having moved to a new home, the market will now occupy the piazza of the Mercury Theatre.

The monthly market returns with 25 local food and drink producers, catering to its loyal customer base.

Producers who will be present on the day include Loveland Honey, XO Dough, Essex Bakery, Daymens Hill Orchards Apple Juice, Colletts Farm, Lauriston Farm, Totham Bangers, Mycotek, Dukes of Mersea Island, Tensheds Bakery, Mad Mike’s Chilli, Medleys, Country Cottage Preserves, Sticky Pickle Company, Hoskyns, Briarbank Brewery, Beats & Bagels and Mena’s Indian Kitchen.

There will also be craft goods providers including Sage & Seasalt and Vegelicious.

All products sold at the market are crafted by the seller, all of whom hail from a 30-mile radius, encouraging local commerce.

The market will return on February 3, opening at 9:30am and closing at 2pm.
