A woman has been charged as part of an ongoing investigation into an aggravated burglary in Maldon this month.

The investigation was launched on January 5 after Essex Police received a report of a burglary at an address near Coleridge Road.

The victim was at home when their front door was damaged, and they were attacked sustaining minor injuries.

Mikalea Brunning, 46 of Glenway Close, Maldon has since been charged with aggravated burglary, section 18- wounding with intent, possession of a bladed article in a public place and threats to kill.

She has been remanded into custody and will next appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on February 5.

A 23-year-old man has also been arrested in connection with this investigation and since released on bail whilst enquiries continue.
