A COLCHESTER building previously home to popular Italian restaurant is looking for a new owner after it was put on the market.
The property was formerly home to Cowabunga Pizza, which was set up by brothers-in-law Tom Long and Tom Bell in 2018.
It was initially located at a unit in Yorick Road, West Mersea, but later moved to Moorside, in Colchester, in 2021.
The building has now been put up sale on Rightmove, an online real estate property portal, by Petchey Holdings Limited for for £220,000.
The property offers a total of 1,276 sq ft across two floors, with a commercial space on the ground floor and an open-plan office with a private meeting room, storage and kitchenette on the first floor.
Cowabunga Pizza announced its closure in an emotional social media post last year, stating reduced footfall and rising costs during the cost-of-living crisis made it impossible to continue running the business.
During the Covid pandemic, the business had gone from strength to strength, even reaching out to customers during lockdowns to offer them a DIY kit allowing children to create their own dishes at home.
