A garden shed and hedge have been destroyed after a fire broke out in a Suffolk town. 

Firefighters were called to the blaze in Cats Lane in Sudbury at about 8.10am on Tuesday. 

Crews from Sudbury, Long Melford, Halstead and Colchester battled the fire for over an over.

Smoke could be seen across the town as firefighters battled the blaze.

A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said crews used hose reel jets and small gear to bring the fire under control. 

As well as destroying the hedge and shed the fire also spread to the house and a nearby car.
