Veterans from across the region will take part in an important fixture at the U's stadium later this month.
The JobServe Community Stadium, home of Colchester United, will host the event on January 26, when multiple agencies and organisations gather for a Veterans Open Day.
Held in the Legends Suite from 10am to 2pm, the event will be attended by individuals transitioning from military to civilian life.
Organiser Rob Skipper, Help for Heroes’ activity and wellbeing regional lead, said: "Events such as this, where various agencies collaborate together, are of huge benefit to veterans and those looking to leave service.
"Each specialises in a particular field and, therefore, we can offer experts in many different areas that, when looked at individually, might prove too stressful for some people.
"Now, they have the opportunity to receive expert advice across the board with one visit to the Community Stadium and they get to have a brew, too.
"We would urge all veterans to come along - even if you think you’ve everything covered, you might be pleasantly surprised."
Representatives from ten different organisations, including Armed Forces charity Help for Heroes, Abberton Rural Training, Department for Work & Pensions, and The Matthew Project, will be there to provide help and advice.
