As Christmas is approaching, many celebrations are planned in to welcome this joyful and hopeful season. The Bank of China has also organised a “Kids Day” on Friday 22nd December to celebrate the Christmas spirits amongst children of the working member.

At 9 in the morning, there are already many activities waiting for the children to participate in. On the ground floor, a bounce castle is set up, face-painters are invited to decorate the youthful faces. Alongside a ring toss game, where one may win a plushie toy if any rings landed on the bottles. On the 9th floor of the building, Santa and his little elves also has an early morning. They are situated on the end of the corridor, looking forward to the visits of children this year. There are bags of presents prepared by the Santa and the elves, these are the awards to each and every kid who has been good in 2023.  On the other end of the corridor, we have the amusing prankster – the clown! Who shows off his fantastic magic tricks and offers balloons to his young audiences. Even the lunch is Christmas themed. In addition to the Christmas crackers on the dining table, there are also buns made in the shape of a Santa. The space is filled with laughter and festival spirits.

“It is always amazing to see these young faces, they really do bring a different atmosphere to this workplace. It feels alive and joyous.” Commented by Mr. Zhang, a member of staff in the Trading Centre. “I also see this as an opportunity for my son and daughter to socialize with others at similar age to them, who also shares similar experiences of growing up abroad.” He furthers, upon seeing his son and daughter surrounded by friends.

December is undoubtedly a magical month; we sincerely hope that everyone is surrounded by friends and family in this season of warmth. Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
