A WOMAN who took the train from Ipswich to Colchester without paying a £9.50 ticket fare has been fined £492.
Kayleigh McCreanor, of New Kiln Road, Colchester, was travelling on a Greater Anglia train in May when she failed to show a ticket to a conductor.
Officials at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court considered the case in McCreanor’s absence in December, finding her guilty and docking her hundreds of pounds.
McCreanor, 30, must now pay a £220 fine, a £88 surcharge to fund victim services, £175 in costs, £9.50 in compensation.
It means McCreanor must pay a total of £492.50 by January 15.
