A NEW café with a very unique twist is set to open its doors in Colchester next year.

Meow Cat Café, run by Rebecca White, is a quaint eating establishment where its customers can enjoy a meal surrounded by furry friends.

Following its success in Halstead's High Street, the company aims to open another shop in Colchester in the near future.

In its few months of opening, the café has rehomed dozens of cats and put smiles on hundreds of customers faces.

This cat café does things a little differently as none of the cats are permanent residents.

These cats come from a local cat charity, Friends of Felines, and every furry face is up for adoption via the café and charity's website.

Rebecca said: "I’m able to offer a space for rescue cats to come and meet their new potential owners, great coffee, a lovely space to unwind and a place for children to get to know cats."

The Halstead shop works on a booking process, where customers can book one hour sessions to spend with the cats in the café.
