TWO popular animals at Colchester Zoo have been taken ‘off-show’ for health checks.
Colchester Zoo, in Maldon Road, Stanway, has closed its indoor viewing area at Lion Rock and taken two different animals away from public exhibition.
The lion based at Lion Rock is not available to the public and the Great Grey Owl has also been taken off display.
Colchester Zoo has confirmed the closures are in connection with routine health checks.
According to Colchester Zoo, both animals are set to be back on display tomorrow.
