TRAIN lines between Colchester and Manningtree have now reopened following an incident on the railway line.
A trespasser gained access to the track between the two stations earlier this afternoon.
As a result, all lines were blocked while the situation was dealt and services came to a halt.
Staff from British Transport Police and Network Rail are understood to have attended the scene.
A spokesman from British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the line in Colchester at around 1.40pm today following reports of a trespasser on the tracks.
"Officers attended and the person was taken to a place of safety."
A Network Rail spokesman said: "We received reports of a trespass at approximately 1.43pm in the Colchester area, which resulted in short delay to train services, while an investigation was carried out.
"The line was reopened by 14:08 hours and services resumed shortly thereafter."
