A PERSON is said to have "made threats" and behaved in an "abusive manner" towards members of the public in Colchester, sparking a police investigation.

Essex Police officers were called to a disturbance in Iceni Way, Colchester, shortly before 10.10am on Sunday November 12.

According to the force a person was seen acting in unpleasantly towards residents in the area, sparking concern among the community.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "It was reported an individual had made threats and behaved in an abusive manner towards members of the public.

“An investigation into this matter is ongoing.”

Police officers have now issued an appeal asking for anyone with information to contact them.

A spokesman added: "Any eyewitnesses or residents with information or footage in connection to the incident is advised to contact Essex Police, as it could help the investigation.
