A DRIVER has been rushed to hospital after an accident involving two cars on a busy road which is causing traffic chaos in north Colchester.
The crash in Via Urbis Romanae, opposite the new Sainsbury's Local site, is understood to have happened just after 2pm today.
Essex Police officers and two ambulance crews are at the scene, where it appears a car has driven into a set of traffic lights after a crash with another car.

Traffic leaving nearby Camulos Academy is having to queue along Whitmore Drive and Eden Drive to leave the school because of heavier than normal traffic.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called shortly after 2.10pm to a road traffic collision on the Via Urbis Romanae in Colchester.
"Two ambulances were sent to the scene and assessed two patients, one of whom was transported to Colchester General Hospital.”
