A DRIVER was left injured after a HGV hit a car as it tried to overtake sparking a police investigation.
An incident took place this morning on the A12 at 9.30am between junctions 27 and 28, near Colchester, where a heavy goods vehicle's manoeuvre saw it collide with a car.
A red heavy goods vehicle was reportedly overtaking a grey Renault Megane in an attempt to move back into the left-hand lane.
The rear corner section of the vehicle's trailer hit the Megane, causing the collision, and the vehicle continued on in the right-hand lane.
This incident left the Renault Megane driver with minor injuries.
A spokesman for Essex Police is now hoping for eyewitnesses that saw the incident take place to come forward.
They said: "The incident took place at 9.30am this morning, Thursday 16 November, on the northbound carriageway between junctions 27 and 28.
"We’re investigating the incident and we’re appealing for anyone who witnessed it or has dashcam footage of it."
