A HARWICH dad was left bemused after seeing a group of swans occupying the centre of a busy roundabout before crossing the road.

Charlie Bull was on his way back to Harwich when he came across seven swans causing disruption on the roundabout near the Morrisons superstore, in Garland Road, Parkeston.

Mr Bull, who had just picked up his children, was travelling behind a lorry at the time before the large vehicle suddenly stopped after spotting the swans.

He then decided to drive closer to the roundabout, stop his car and take a photo of the beautiful white birds in order to warn other drivers.

“As I was going past the docks, a lorry had slammed its brakes on and let the swans cross the road," said Mr Bull.

“I thought they were going to the other side of the road, but I ended up following them up the road and that’s when I went round the roundabout and pulled into a car park, got out the car and took a photo.

“I wanted to warm people as it’s dangerous for traffic and the swans themselves.

“I just thought it was a bit strange they were walking across the roundabout at the time.”
