A MAN has been arrested following an incident in Colchester where a boy needed hospital treatment after allegedly being bitten by a dog. 

Police say the 13-year-old was riding his bike down Fords Lane at around 2.15pm on Sunday, November 5, when he was approached by the man and his dog.

It was alleged the dog then bit the boy on his leg, leaving four wounds that required hospital treatment.

A 37-year-old man from Colchester was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, causing injury.

He has been released on bail until January 24.
