RESIDENTS of a Colchester care home have been treated to a lovely surprise featuring the most adorable little rescue kittens.
The residents of Woodland View Care home, in Turner Road, were treated to a visit from the non-profit, Colchester Caring For Our Cats, where they could spend some time with several little felines.
Taking place in the care home’s Queen Boudica TV lounge, the residents and their families were over the moon as they were able to cuddle the gorgeous cats.
The care home, owned by Barchester Healthcare, arranged for this special experience because their continued efforts to enrich the lives of their residents.
Petra Hardman, the activities coordinator at Woodland View, said: “We strive to include families and the local community in the home's life enrichment programme.
"I thought it would be great to have some cats in, so residents could place them on their laps, and have a lovely cuddle.
"On the day, everyone was excited and the residents really loved the interaction."
Colchester Caring For Our cats is a community-led organisation that was founded four years ago.
The organisation is a team-effort with 30 volunteers that all actively work to rescue, foster, rehabilitate and rehome cats.
It is currently applying for charity status and as a community-led non-profit group, Colchester Caring For Our Cats relies on donations.
