PROPERTIES across Essex are set to go under the hammer at an auction next month.

A former dry cleaning business in Colchester, an ex-newsagents in Coggeshall, and a property in a converted mill complex are all set to be sold.

Clive Emson Auctioneers land and property will have its final day to auction off the three properties on  November 1.

Colchester Dry Cleaners, at 132 High Street, is currently up for sale, the freehold guide price is estimated at £180,000 to £190,000.

The property is over four floors and vacant possession, meaning that once a sale is complete, the previous owner will have to be moved out of the property on an agreed date.

It’s an ideal property for anyone looking to start a business in the city centre, regional director and auctioneer Paul Bridgeman says.

He said: “The building offers ground floor retail space with auxiliary storage over first, second and basement levels.

“It may offer potential for alternative uses, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.”

A former site of a newsagents, at 9 to 13 Church Street, Coggeshall is another building up for grabs during the auction for a freehold price between £275,000 to £300,000.

The building not only comes with the shop and a flat, it also comes with planning consent to convert the existing building into a mixed residential and commercial location.

Paul believes this particular property will receive fierce interest from developers.

He said: “I am anticipating strong interest from builders and developers keen to get going on a mid-sized project with planning consent already in place.”

Finally, a three-bedroom duplex which is situated in a converted mill complex, in East Street, Colchester, will be up for a leasehold price between £215,000 to £225,000.

The property’s building used to be a 19th century flour mill and it is only a short walk from Colchester’s city centre.

As a tenant of The Mills Apartments, you will have access to a private courtyard, parking spaces, a gym, and a concierge service.

The tenure of the property is part of a 125-year-old lease which started in 2003. It includes a current ground cost of £100 a year.
