THE quaint village of Dedham - only a short drive from the centre of Colchester - is revered and celebrated for its picturesque, natural beauty spots.
But it is also home to an array of wonderful hospitality businesses - from cosy pubs to fine dining eateries, Dedham has plenty to offer.

The Sun Inn
The Sun Inn, in High Street, Dedham, is a well-known spot in the village.
It’s a warm and welcoming restaurant and pub close to St Mary’s Church Tower. It also boasts seven tastefully decorated hotel rooms which are available to rent.
The pub is open from Monday to Saturday, 11am until 11pm. On Sundays, however, it closes at 6pm.
Its restaurant, meanwhile, is open at select times throughout the week.
One customer gave it a five star review on Google and commented on its unique atmosphere.
They said: “Sofas, fire, board games, dogs allowed, good wine menu and friendly patrons."
The Marlborough
This traditional pub and restaurant can be found in Mill Lane, Dedham.
It’s a spectacular 15th century building with a range of drinks and classic pub dishes.
The Marlborough is open Monday to Thursday 8am until 10pm, Fridays 8am until 11pm, and Sundays 8am until 9pm.
One reviewer on Google couldn’t speak highly enough of the establishment.
They said: “Excellent drinks and food selection, staff are extremely helpful even when busy."
The Boatyard Eatery
If you’re looking for good food and an incredible view of the River Stour from your table, then The Boatyard Eatery may be the place for you.
Based in Mill Lane, the restaurant serves many different seasonal dishes.
The restaurant is open everyday 9am until 4pm, except on Tuesdays.
A reviewer on Google praised the eatery.
They said: "Lovely atmosphere, staff and service, it is very dog friendly."
Another commented: "The menu and food was excellent, in choice, quality and price."
Talbooth Restaurant
The Talbooth is an exquisite restaurant in Gun Hill, Dedham.
It is situated near the River Stour and offers fine-dining at a luxurious 19th century home.
The restaurant is open multiple times throughout the week.
One Google reviewer said: “Beautiful location, and excellent service."
