TWO businesses are expected to open their doors to customers in the coming months after new signs were put up outside the premises.

Up until this summer, Café Bellissimo and Property Street estate agents were neighbouring properties in Wimpole Road, Colchester.

Now, however, new tenants have moved into each unit and put up signs in preparation to open for business.

Takeaway and fast-food store, KrayVinns, has taken the place of Café Bellissimo, whilst a convenience store has set up in the retail unit previously occupied by Property Street estate agents.

Café Bellissimo closed in April after well-known owner Lee Pagliarini said he was going to retire and return to Italy.

Shortly before closing, he said: “Say goodbye to fresh food.

“There is no crap in place, never has been, never will be until the day I close the shop – after that, people can do what they want to.

“It’s cheaper to come and see me and eat properly rather than eat a takeaway – there is no argument.”

Café Bellissimo’s successor, KrayVinns, describes itself as “a joint family business providing our services in east London and Colchester, making food enjoyable and fun.”

Orders are currently available via Deliveroo and JustEat, and an inspection from the Food Standards Agency gave the Afro-Caribbean takeaway a five-star food hygiene rating.

A description on the website continued: “With control over customisations, you can create and build your favourite box meals.

“Our homemade recipes are due to make your list of cravings.”

Next door, a convenience store simply named Corner Shop has been set up, with the outside of the building painted turquoise and repairs having been made to the section of wall which had been seriously damaged by a car in August.

The former estate agent had been vacant for several months.

Inside, there are signs of some renovations being underway with fridges and shelving units having been set up, although the store looks some way off completion.

The shop is a short walk away from another convenience store, the East of England Co-Op, which is open seven days a week.
