A POPULAR city centre bar is inviting visitors to party for hours on end as it celebrates 25 years in the business.

Twisters Bar, in North Hill, Colchester, is throwing an all-day birthday bash to celebrate a quarter of a century in the city.

The venue has been a staple of day and night life in the the area since 1998, having been set up by brothers Nik and Simon Lucking along with friend Paul Tonkinson.

It was created with the aim of providing “great music, great service and great drinks for great people” in Colchester.

And they've stayed true to that promise.

Over the years Twisters has played host to a range of celebrated DJ-led special music nights showcasing the very best in soul, indie, funk and punk classics.

The venue fuses “cool indie, rock, electro, punk and other alternative genres” with “expertly made classic cocktails, a cool range of canned craft beers and draught plus a great atmosphere all under one roof”.

It also features a much-loved beer garden to enjoy too.

The venue threw its 20 year celebration in 2018 and will today do the same again.

A spokesman for Twister said: “Let's cheers to 25 years of Twisters Bar.
