A DRIVER who hit speeds of up to 98mph has been allowed to keep his licence.

Marius Valentin Mitu, 32, was clocked driving between 80 and 98mph for two miles on the M25 at Upminster on November 30 last year.

Willesden Magistrates’ Court heard he was driving a Volkswagen T-Roc at the time of the offence, which was proved through the single justice procedure.

Mitu, of Imphal Close, Colchester, was handed six points on his driving licence.

The defendant was ordered to pay £486 in a fine, surcharge and costs.
