A TEENAGER who was found driving over the alcohol limit only a year after passing his driving test has been banned from the roads.
Michael Wood, of Greenways, Feering, was stopped by police in August and found to be over the legal alcohol limit when a Breathalyzer test showed he had 45 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The 18-year-old appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court in September where he admitted driving a motor vehicle when over the alcohol limit, and was given a driving ban 14 months.
Should he undertake a driving course, however, the ban will be reduced to 14 weeks.
Wood was also fined £317.
