TWO city centre shops are set for upgrades after applying for permission for revamp work.
Lush and the Perfume Shop, in Colchester, are looking to perform work to their respective shops.
Lush, in Trinity Street, has been in the city centre for many years, selling various cosmetic products.
It has applied for several repair works.
A planning document reads: “The works consist of repairs and replacement of tiles to the pitch tiled roof at the front of the property.
“Reclaimed clay tiles are to be used to match with the existing ones.
“We have also allowed to clear all the debris and vegetation from the roof.
“We also plan to install new lead flashing around the perimeter of the parapet walls to seal the bitumen upstands.
“This won’t be visible from street level. Replacement of existing defective lead flashing from around the pitch roof and replace with new code 4.
“We have allowed for scaffolding with a license for the duration of the works.”
As well as this, The Perfume Shop is looking to get a new look, by upgrading its signage.
It hopes to replace the current main sign as well as the smaller square hanging sign.
It would change the background to all black with a red border.
Colchester Council will rule on the proposals.
